Booki vs Ace Per Head: The Cheapest Per Head Is Still Per Head
Ace Per Head advertises as low as $3 per active player per week, and only bills a player who had a graded wager that week. That is the lowest advertised rate in this comparison set by some distance. Twenty active players is still about $260 a month, or $3,120 a year. Booki Pro is $49.99 a month for up to 50 members — $599.88 a year.
So the honest version of this page is not "Ace is expensive." At $3 they are cheap for what they include. The question is whether you need what they include.
Who should stay on Ace Per Head
Stay if the full shop is the point. Ace has been in the industry since 1998, and the $3 rate carries a customized sportsbook website, sharp lines updated continuously, a virtual casino, a live dealer casino, horse betting, a custom prop builder, and 24/7 support. Premium live betting with 50–70 in-play options is $5 extra per week for players who use it, with the first two weeks free. They advertise up to 20% off for paying in cryptocurrency, and various free-week promotions for new agents.
They are also direct about what they do not do: their own pricing page states plainly that they do not offer $5 or $7 weekly rates. Take that as a signal about positioning rather than a discount to negotiate for.
If your players open the casino, bet horses, or use in-play, that stack is the product and $3 a head is a fair price for not building it. Booki will not replace it.
Who should switch to Booki
Switch if you organize for roughly 8 to 50 people you already know, you settle outside the software, and nobody has opened the casino, the racebook or the prop builder. At that point the per-head rate is not the problem — buying an operation you do not run is.
Booki is pick-tracking and bankroll management software. Be The House. Not a sportsbook, not a pay-per-head service. No payments, no deposits, no payouts, no funds held. Live odds, automated grading for moneylines, spreads, totals and parlays (futures are graded manually), credit and win limits, settlement reconciliation, a tamper-evident ledger, and member invites. Cap: 50 members. No casino, racebook, call center, or branded sportsbook website.
If you needed the house, stay. If you needed a ledger, even $3 a head is buying the wrong thing.
Feature and price comparison
Monthly figures use 4.33 weeks and assume every player is active. Ace bills only players with a graded wager that week, so a quieter book pays less — scale the Ace column by whatever share of your group actually plays.

How to switch
You do not migrate pick history. Carry over each member's net balance as a starting adjustment, agree the numbers, and start fresh on picks.
- Export or screenshot current balances from Ace. Settle any open action you do not want sitting across two systems.
- Start Booki Pro. Invite members. They join themselves — you do not create their accounts.
- Enter each member's net balance as an opening adjustment. Get agreement on those figures first. That is the whole "migration."
- Set credit limits and win limits. Leave historical picks where they are. New picks go on Booki against live odds and grade automatically.
- Keep settling the way you already do. Booki records the balance. It never touches the money.
Start Pro at $49.99/month
If your group is twenty friends and the casino has never been opened, the cheaper structure is a flat ledger — even against the lowest advertised head rate on the market. Start Pro for $49.99/month. Invite the book. Carry over balances and go.
