Booki vs RealBookies: Premium PPH vs a $49.99 Ledger

RealBookies advertises $9 per head for 1 to 29 players, with the first two weeks free. That is $9 times every active player, times 52. Twenty active players is about $780 a month, or $9,360 a year. Booki Pro is $49.99 a month for up to 50 members ($599.88 a year). You are not looking at a close contest on price. You are looking at two different products, one of which a lot of small organizers never needed.

If you need a branded sportsbook with casino, horses, and phone wagering, RealBookies is built for that. If you needed a ledger for people you know, $9 a head is a premium you can stop paying.

Who should stay on RealBookies

Stay if you are a high-volume agent and the full shop is the point. RealBookies has been in Costa Rica since 1999. The pitch is a turnkey book: sportsbook, casino, racebook, live dealer, poker, pools, and players who can bet online or by phone. Above 29 players the public price disappears. Their pricing page says call for quote.

That opacity is fine if you are scaling a real book and negotiating a package. It is a problem if you are trying to forecast a 30-person friend group. Reviews also note that live betting and a prop builder are often add-ons, and that stacking them can push the effective rate toward ~$20 a head. Confirm what your quote actually includes. The two free weeks are a trial, not a discount on the year.

Booki will not replace a 24/7 call center, a white-label site, or casino verticals. If those are load-bearing, stay.

Who should switch to Booki

Switch if you run a private book for roughly 8 to 50 known members, you already settle outside the software, and you are paying RealBookies prices for infrastructure your group never opens. That is the group this page is for. It is not trying to peel off agents who need casino, a call center, or a branded player site.

Booki is pick tracking and bankroll management. Be The House. Not a sportsbook. No payment processing, no funds handled. Live odds from the Odds API, automated grading (moneylines, spreads, totals, parlays; futures graded manually), credit and win limits, settlement reconciliation, a tamper-evident ledger, member invites, and a web app that works in a mobile browser. Cap: 50 members. No casino, racebook, call center, or full branded sportsbook website.

If you needed the house, stay. If you needed a ledger, you are overpaying.

Feature and price comparison

Monthly figures use 4.33 weeks and assume every player is active. Most PPH services only bill players who wagered that week. RealBookies publishes $9 only for 1–29 players, so the 50-player row is an extrapolation, not their quote.

How to switch

RealBookies keeps the history. You keep the balances. Carry over each member's net balance as a starting adjustment. Do not import old picks. Start fresh.

  1. Pull a current balance report. Close or grade anything still pending if you want a clean cutover.
  2. Start Booki Pro and send member invites. Members create their own accounts with the invite.
  3. Enter opening balances so everyone starts where they left off. Get agreement on those numbers in writing or in the group chat.
  4. Set credit limits and win limits. New picks go on Booki against live odds and grade automatically.
  5. Settle off-platform the way you already do. Record the settle-up in Booki so the ledger matches reality.

Start Pro at $49.99/month

Two free weeks on a $9-per-head platform still leaves you with a per-head bill in week three. If you did not need the sportsbook stack, skip the trial math. Start Pro for $49.99/month.
